As long as you have reasonable expectations of:- Running a 24 hour business (mostly remote but guest communications and emergency maintenance issues)- Managing cleaners (schedule and quality)- Managing maintenance (urgent and scheduled/preventative)You will be fine. 80% of the work is remote, with the exception being cleaning and maintenance.

I agree it is a tough decision, but at the end of the day, this is a business and they should live where they can afford to live, whether that is on your property or elsewhere.That being said, you have every right to improve your property and allow for a better quality of life for someone.

What do you want out of a GC: Someone who has lots of quality sub connections, someone who doesn't soak you with their fee on top of Sub costs, someone who will be there to oversee manage the quality and speed of your project at least 3x per week and be in constant communication through calls and pictures.

I understand the arrangement is certainly different, but from a practical standpoint it isn't much different than a licensed GC staffing a team of laborers, who are actually doing all the work, and the GC checking in on quality of work.
