I use the Kwikset "smart key" and can re-key a house in a few minutes.I would try to give them a 'good deal' on fixing the damage, this time,,,but make sure they know going forward they have to pay for the damage and it will be repaired by your contractor.Someone kicking in a door is obviously trying to gain entry into a house they aren't suppose to,,tell them you expect them to file a police report if it happens again.

Consider a banner too, placed on the home, less of an issue with kid's pranks.Another aspect, which has surfaced, if you end up in some situation with the police or in front of some judge, if they are familiar with your business being in that community you'll be treated more fairly than if they've never heard of you, same with building inspectors, zoning boards and other public officials.

And I do believe that if your insurance won't cover the pit bull or significantly increase your insurance costs, you can fight it, but I know in Maryland the police took a woman's pit bull service dog away as the county had a ban on pit bulls, and she successfully won her court case and had it returned to her.
