I live on a 75-acre working farm, and I do agree, the smallest most routine things can be fun and fascinating for folks with no exposure to them.

A fascinating walk down memory lane.It would be interesting to see how these quotes have gone up over time in those areas.Currently in Los Angeles, if I'm putting in most of the sweat equity, then I've been able to go as low as $20/square foot, if I self manage it goes up to at least $50/square foot, and if I hire it all out, we very easily end up close to $100/square foot.There's just so much competition for labor in this and many other markets, that it is a contractor's seller market right now.Because of that, generally I analyze my deals at hire prices, and our rehab budgets are rarely below $120K.

I have one client who works in land acquisition for telecom in the Boise area and it has been fascinating to help them out with property searches.

I would be fascinated to know what his actual medical diagnosis might be because he would work his butt off and had some great ideas in design areas. 

It has put one completely through college, one has 1 year left and is currently studying abroad in Greece (so adventure), and one will start soon.
