Investigated several platforms:Roofstock - Found that prices are inflated and many times quants are not dependable. 

I have called many CPA's even forensic mortgage CPA's   but I dont think they are the guys to do this math that should hold up to legal scrutiny.   

Have you investigated taking the property subject to?

This warrants a further investigation.

One check by accident is one thing, but writing multiple checks when you know there is no money to cover it is fraud.Florida skimming law:https://www.flsenate.gov/Laws/Statutes/2012/697.08FBI mortgage fraud:https://www.fbi.gov/investigate/white-collar-crime/mortgage-fraudI am not saying that everyone would be caught or prosecuted for this, but a scheme with multiple properties and larger sums of money is exactly the kind of thing that gets prosecuted.Very often in these type of schemes, people are not claiming the income on taxes, so that introduces federal tax evasion into the mix.

All that can still be forged unless I decided to go "private investigator" on them and demand to see photo IDs, LLC documents, and paperwork/contracts for the work I was being shown.)3.

Safeco's independent agent wasn't sure (she's still investigating), but I am wondering if anyone here had a similar experience and how they went about making sure they are properly protected? 

Begin with bankers, real estate agents, insurance agents, property managers, CPAs...be honest about just starting out and in the investigation phase.
