I would also look back at the docs and confirm the GP was doing what they said they were going to do.

As it turns out, both the heloc loan officer and the confirming mortgage loan officer said the same thing - since my heloc has a $0 balance, it doesn't count towards DTI calculations!  

I also agree that if 850 is your max unless you have some good reserves try to buy below that.

We use docusign to send a reservation agreement which essentially makes them sign the house rules. 

I also reserve the term bully for a lot worse words than any I have seen from either party in this thread.
