I'm interested in starting a discussion on easy ways to figure out appropriate amounts of dwelling and liability coverage to purchase for a rental property in a given area.

New Zealand, where I am from, is sadly off the table now as the govt just banned overseas ownership of existing dwellings.

Zillow and instant value sites like it only go off of outdated public data.

There will be instant equity in the home and it's in nice condition however, it's a little dated. 

I was thinking about buying a single home and breaking it up in to two or three separate dwellings.

Multi-Family apartment dwellings are historically some of the best real estate investments available.
