My guess is no since the broker doesn't have to pay me unless I make a sale, but I'm not sure and was hoping to get some clarity on this.Also, would my sponsoring broker get a cut of the commissions on both the buy and sell side?

So, if you are looking for someone small and cheap to do a little job for you, you are automatically selecting from the fourth-best people out there, people who were unable to work in new construction, well-established renovation, or Home Depot at a cut rate.And here's the real kicker -- once they get big enough to put a few bucks by, what's to stop many of these tradesmen in an economy like today's from getting into the game themselves and realizing they can pay themselves more in increased equity and increased rent than they can make working for others?

I know a lot of new agents avoid the type of program where someone gets a cut of your first several deals in exchange for training you, but I think that's that best setup for the vast majority of people.

If it's a 'steal' of a deal like you say, then you don't need your family member's help. 1) Take down the deal yourself with a HML lender (some still are lending esp on awesome deals)2) Or, find some of the trusted wholesalers and offer to give them a cut to shoot it out to their buyer's list.
