Hi All,I'll be purchasing my first duplex in Minneapolis in a couple of weeks and have a banking question for everyone.

I'm only familiar with Minneapolis and Louisville on a personal level although I have lived in Austin for a while.I would suggest looking further into the numbers in different areas.

Thanks John,I have been trying for a long time to find rentals here in Los Angeles that cash flow but I have been unable to find anything.I have relatives in Vegas , Tyler TX, and Minneapolis so I'm thinking to venture in this cities.Here in LA you need to have tons of money to be able to buy fixer uppers as well.

I could buy a $50,000 or less house in Minneapolis to rent and cash flow.  

In regards to the cities I’ve looked at – I puled together a list of about 2 dozen cities, including Atlanta, Minneapolis, Charlotte/Raleigh, Charleston, Orlando, and quite a few others, and then made a matrix of various economic stats, including projected household growth, unemployment, projected disposable income growth, and projected job growth.

I heard there's a guy who does consulting for that kind of thing in Minneapolis.

My plan is to start with a "house hack" and get into a multi-unit property in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area.
