: a)All owners or persons having care of any property bordering any street, highway or public place within the city, shall, within the first eight (8) hours of daylight after the end of any snowfall, or the fall or deposit of snow or ice on the sidewalk of said property, from any cause whatsoever:(1)Remove or cause to be removed all snow or ice from a path not less than three (3) feet in width the length of the sidewalk of the entire border in or on said street, highway, or public place, including from any pedestrian access ramps cut into street curbs bordering said property and, for corner lots, from the portion(s) of the sidewalk extending past the property to and including the street curb, and provide for the treatment of any snow or ice remaining on any shoveled sidewalk, with sand, salt or other suitable material;(2)Remove or cause to be removed all snow or ice from around any fire hydrant on the sidewalk bordering said property; and(3)Remove or cause to be removed all snow or ice from the opening of any catch basin bordering the sidewalk of said property.

@Terry Fox, I live in Cape Coral in the winter months and the only issue I know the city has and is trying to enforce is not having vehicles parked on the lawns out front or blocking the sidewalks.

The guest, or whatever, could very well have gone to the sidewalk (publicly owned, not your property, not covered by your lease), smoked there, and deposited the refuse where you found it on the way back inside.

There are 3 outside staircases and a street sidewalk, as well as space between the sidewalk and their garage stalls (which is small, but because it's off the main street, you know snow will pile up considerably there).

Water supply lines; waste and sewer lines (or septic systems); roofing; gutter/downspout systems; window  units; electrical system; HVAC systems; foundation; structural framing; exterior walking surfaces (frontage sidewalks and driveways); as well as more cosmetic interior items including paint, floorcovering, cabinetry, fixtures, and major appliances, all can create some level of hardship if you are not prepared for them...some much more than others, obviously.Always remember, prevention is much less costly than remediation.

There's a tenant in place paying $1,200 a month, and the following information in the MLS looked pretty good to me:"Un-Finished Attic Basement stonewall/brick foundation 50 gal hot water heater New Efficient Goodman gas fired furnace Walk out doors fuse box electricity, laundry connections, basement dry & clean New Furnace, New Soffets New Sewer Pipes New Heating Ducts New Hot water heater New Sidewalk near the house New Electrical service New Windows Slate roof, new separate gas & electric meters"My question is whether this deal would make sense for someone looking to get started in Real Estate.
