After pressing '1' for English and navigating the maze of directory options, I finally gave up and started pressing '0' until it said I was being transferred to a low paid hourly worker who would not understand my question, her job, and absolutely would be of no help to me.

You can also hire a VA to submit your site to a large quantity of local search directories so your local business information is corroborated around the web.

Great question...it may be a combination of sources...the U.S. economic development administration (www.eda.gov/resources) has a directory of state and local resources that compile some of this demographic, economic, jobs, and housing data around the U.S. ; that is a source for some big picture data, but for square foot construction or renovation in an area, maybe check with your insurers or local contractors (and that even varies based on size, type of building, area, etc)..

They really liked the idea of my website, since there wasnt anything like it for the area yet.Well, my website is just starting out but its mainly just a business directory for the area I live in.
