I’m not from the US and currently live in Europe most of the time.I’ve found some apartments that could work well for my needs—I plan to rent them out on Airbnb and reserve a few nights for myself when I travel there for work.My question is: apart from the purchase price (I’ve seen listings on Zillow averaging around $150k in areas like downtown Dallas, Old East, and Plano), what other costs should I expect—both during the acquisition and in monthly payments?

I am by no means good at making websites, I still haven't been able to embed the listings page, apply now, or resident log in buttons to my website.Just curious what others are doing to make an easier process.Thanks! 

If it does not sell at the listed price, lower the price.  

These kinds of developments can be huge draws for both residents and investors.

Hello Scott, developers require a minimum down payment of 30% and the balance in  to 9 months in a pre construction condo.

but, it's not going to be "profitable" for several years, depending on how you define profit.you'll have a down payment, then closing costs - which new investors always seem to be shocked by - then potentially some costs to get a property rent ready, then you'll pay a month's rent to get it listed and rented out, then you'll likely have some repairs after the tenant moves in.  

Your development deal will look much like a flip in the eyes of the IRS since it is 6-9 months as well you'll have the short-term side of taxes, not the capital gains taxing on it.  

I don't see a problem listing it as a 3br on VRBO and AirBNB if there is a sleeping area. 

Networking is where all the real deals come from because anything you see on the market or on a wholesalers email list has already been sent to all of the VIP and they passed.
