If we pay cash I'd think about foregoing flood insurance - the odds of a flood reaching the building look very low, and if the contents are inner tubes and kayaks there probably wouldn't be much risk, I think.

Mike,Since you plan on renting your condo, i'd suggest you ask your tenant to purchaserenter's insurance (liability and content). it's not expensive and also covers you too in case of injury in your condo.Jacob.
