Two questions here:1) A friend wants to invest with me and doesn't just want interest for the money he's putting up, but rather to reap the benefit (or suffer the loss) of the venture.  

I haven't yet ventured into my first investment property but I've been reading up and researching properties in my area based on what I'm learning. 

That would be for a licensed Electrician as @Tyler Amburgy mentioned, i would not recommend doing it as a DIY project, have a licensed electrician do it with all the proper inspections, helps to free you from liability should anything happen ( even though a lawyer will always find ways to get to you - no offense to any lawyers out there ) I am a contractor but i do not do any work on my rental properties or flips, i always hire local contractors in the area.

Any diy people work on hvac system?

I have done Venture point before, on the co-workspace side, I got a good monthly deal and it worked out really well when I was using it for my web design work, and I might go with them again, but  haven't seen recent pricing.

If you DIY, it won't cost you 1,000's either...

About 5 years away from retirement and I am looking for a business venture to help set up my family for when I'm gone.
