My wife, Shelbie, and I have been researching about REI for the past 1 year.

This past summer (our first season) we had many multi-generational family reunions book stays.  

I am planning to buy my first 2-family property in Schenectady and is curious to know how the rental market has been in past 1 or 2 years in Schenectady and what are the projections, and if anyone has a recent experience with a similar purchase.

I would recommend you shop around, but since rates have skyrocketed the past 3 weeks, you are unlikely to find a better deal than what you locked your rate at in with your current lender. 

I looked at past Bigger Pockets posts and found threads mostly from 2023 or older.

On a the main st, mine is on a dead end with only one house past mine.

Not that they currently own multiple properties, but they have in the past.

I don't know your criteria for a good deal, but if you're strictly looking on market for a quad in Raleigh you likely won't find one in the near future that meets what you're looking for.I have been looking in both Raleigh and Charlotte for the past few months and I barely came across any good deals at least online.

I'm definitely going to look into it.I'm past the point of house hacking though 😅 My family wouldn't fit in a duplex.
