I would like to be able to occupy the property for 1 week every 4-6 months, which they agree to (with enough notice on dates) as they have to travel for work at times and could easily vacate during these periods.Has anyone written this sort of agreement into a lease?

HH properties (and often HH clients) are high resource utilization accounts for a PMC, so many PMCs won't take them on, or will only take them on with the understanding that the property will be converted to a single-lease property (we do still use this approach.) 

Not having to go find a good cleaner and handy person, proof of regular maintenance on the hard systems (A/C, Furnace etc) helps.

Leasing Alert Property Management based out of Los Angeles County is managing this property.

They didn’t have an attorney.In court, the couple said a leasing agent told them they could get two months of free rent when they moved in.

Otherwise a simple $50 late fee penalty in the lease should cure you of this issue @Phil Shelton

So outsourcing some degree of property mgmt would be a must... but the deal won't work paying a local property manager a large % of my revenue...Instead, I would set up my "boots on the ground" (cleaners, handyman), and would need an offshore virtual assistant to manage guests and coordination of my local team.
