Scheduled payments are first applied first to accrued interest then to principal and if interest is fixed with scheduled monthly payments, there is no difference to odd days monthly to annualized amortizations.

I get your concern that equity is being stripped by accrued interest and fees on the 1st but you can only stop the bleeding by foreclosing and trying to sell.
