But to add depth for insulation & wiring runs we positioned 2x4's on edge & secured them onto the block using a metal decking bracket, also secured with a nail shot into the block.

Found another guy on my facebook group that had fought it the wrong way on a rehab in the Heights, and he ended up having to take 5 feet off his porch, but he did change the footprint going back with concrete under the wooden deck porch, rather than keeping the wood deck framing the same, and he extended the concrete out past the porch itself, which did in fact change the original foot print, my project manager has been doing these rehabs 40 years in Houston, but this thing really stressed him out, and he knows the inspectors really well, the tipping point for him was that they were using a aerial google map image of the house and porch, which isn't valid for a gazillion number of reasons, we are going back in this morning at 8 am hoping to just have a different inspector, and getting a 2nd opinion, because our recent survey shows the building line and house structure and porch are within the measurements that they are calling for, thank God for that!

.- Asphalt Roofing Manufacturer's Association "strongly advises caution when considering the application of any type of field applied coating over installed asphalt shingles," due to possible shingle curling/warping and possible vapor barrier may cause premature failure of roof decking.- Some shingle manufacturer's specifically state that coating will void the warranty.

The estimate did include:Exterior:- New trim around windows- Repair of one window (glass was cracked, looked like a baseball strike)- Deck repair (there are two decks, one off the master suite and one larger deck off the dining room.... both need minimum of power wash and paint)- ~$1,500 in lawn care, shrub trimming, tree trimming (it was pretty bad but would look amazing with some care) (this was my estimate outside of the GC estimate)Interior:- ~$3,500 for demo (my GC actually thought $6k but hires it out to 1-800-Got-Junk and recommended that I could find a less expensive option.
