Personally, I am inclined to use that money to purchase a self storage facility....it goes without saying that I would not just buy any facility.  

So far we have looked at Laundromats, storage facilities and a liquor store.

I need ample space and a rear storage area.

Do they rent out storage vs sell storage?

Commercial encompasses large multifamily buildings, hotels, industrial, office, retail, development, self storage,etc.All of us that are commercial brokers specialize in an asset class and deal size range.If you are looking for larger multifamily or retail STNL or MTNL product it's all I do.

also we generally do a video inspection on each end and save on google photos, unlimited storage there.  

Perhaps a buyer would just like to use the other half for storage or for members of his/her immediate family to visit.I am wondering because I was Navy and "decommissioned" is an old word and perhaps might be used as a legal term?
