End walls of a gable system bear more weight and a shed roof along the run will bear less weight but carry the wall above the top plate.So, all exterior walls are load bearing, to some extent and to the extent that if weakend, can cause roof damage, sways and saddles, depending on how the roof rafters are tied in.
