And Ohio itself has 2 professional baseball and 2 professional football teams, a professional basketball team(Cleveland), THE Ohio State Buckeyes are always a competitive college team in multiple sports.  

Not so sure if it is once you are  in the big leagues but I assume most people want to have a bit of visibility on the cost....am I wrong?

It is like saying I want to be a football player and a baseball player; choose one and after you have become great at what you do (football) you can transition into the other field (baseball).
