if your concern is that there are going to be a rash of title insurance claims that requires insurance companies to pay out, and ultimately puts them out of business leaving your title policies worthless, then there's not much I can suggest that will allow you to protect yourself.

Buying first home (condo) - short sale value?

For instance if the age of the complex in this case is 5 years old and most of the buyers bought for 230k then most of the owners are way underwater...when your neighbors hear that units are selling for close to 100k less than what they recently bought for it will lead to a rash of short sales and strategic defaults...However if the owners have been on title longer and hove more equity you could be in good shape...but if you want to see how bad some condo projects can snowball do a search on condos in florida...its nuts down there...they can go from 150k to 25k fast!

Especially as long as there are indicators that the bigger banks have the means and desire to absorb smaller institutions when necessary.Whether you agree or disagree with Bush's decision to spend $700B to bail out the banks a couple years ago, it shored up the ability for larger institutions to take away to affect of destabilization when there were a rash of smaller bank failures. Now, if you're concerned about the big banks failing or a major snowball effect, there are steps the FDIC can take -- and probably will pretty soon -- to ensure that the fallout won't trickle down to the taxpayer.I'm certainly not saying we're out of the woods economically, but to say that bank failures are likely to have a major impact on the economy doesn't really make sense to me.Of course, I'm not an economist, so I could be wrong

I have it in my written criteria that I will reject for threatening, bullying, harassing, of the landlord, LL's employees. neighbors, or other members of the applying party. If his demeanor is such that he stands too close, leans over you, makes harsh facial expressions, says threatening things, then you can certainly reject. This is just about the only place where I think it is OK to play the girl card.
