I remember seeing the Chinese real estate market booming when I was attending college and working in Shanghai in early 2000.

I came across this 5/4/2 3850sq ft home with Chinese drywall.

I had not heard of Chinese Drywall until today so far as I can remember.  

Sometimes they get new, factory-blemished items, scratch and dent appliances or "oops" paint.Alibaba.com or any Chinese supplier can provide inexpensive flat-pack (ready-to-assemble) cabinets for good prices, but you will wait weeks or months to get the products and if one thing is damaged or incorrect, you will wait weeks or months again.

What do you think the impact of foreign investors (especially Chinese investors) on the bay area RE during this coming recession/correction?

The investing by over seas Chinese is unrelenting and has been happening for a long time.

For example, if the Chinese government stops Chinese citizens from taking their money out of China, it will slow demand for Real Estate in Canada.The only problem with forecasting a bubble bursting is that it could be a month from now, or it could be 15 years from now when home prices are 3 or 4 times higher than what they are now.If you buy for the long term cash flow, you'll be protected if house prices decrease.

It sounds very similar to how we (Californians) talk about Chinese and other foreign investors who throw down ridiculous all cash offers in the Bay Area.

All talk is about a mostly Chinese investor driven property bubble.
