I'm pretty excited for the concept here, sticking with the same cathedral gray walls of property #2, white ceiling & baseboard but coupled with a wide plank, light gray laminate flooring that should pair well.

We would hire the painter to do harder places (like cathedral ceilings that needed a ladder) while I painted the easier rooms, and my husband had the handyman doing the jobs he didn't want to do, like changing out toilets while he was installing new light fixtures, etc.

With an older property, if the previous owners have NOT dealt with the issues, then those issues are often readily visible (for instance, if the house had structural issues that were not resolved, the sagging will often be visible on a 50+ year old house, but may not be visible on a 10 year old house).Here's a real-life example: I bought a new property; a very nice and spacious place with cathedral ceilings and some nice amenities.
