Solo style or team oriented?

Its a high management style of being a landlord.

IMO the grocery-retail-apartments all in one footprint is a nice model for redevelopment in urban areas where currently it's difficult to locate a big box style store plus parking lot, etc..I know a lot of people gripe about gentrification, but it's great for the long term viability of a neighborhood.

What most, in my opinion, fail to realize is that as a property owner, you are providing a service to a customer, and as such, must be in a customer service oriented mindset.

@Russell Holmes I also enjoy shaking my fists at clouds, Grandpa Simpson style. 

These are mostly older, 100yr old homes with all kinds of styles and sizes. 

They will also do a demo with you in which they walk you through the site as well as send you a couple different styles to look at.

At this point I'm trying to figure out which area might be of interest  to me, which style of investing and when to pull the trigger (you may have seen above that my fiancee only has a job for another year and after that could be moved anywhere in the world).  

It's good you're approaching real estate with a long-term mentality and taking your time to orient yourself rather than dive in seeking quick riches.

At least 3 similar styled homes, sold within the last 3-6 months, similar number of bedrooms and baths and amenities (garages, basements, pools, etc).
