I'm going to tell a personal story as well im 25 years old, grew up poor as most Chinese immigrants do. worked my butt off to get through Washington University in St.Louis debt free through scholarships, full time internships, and side jobs.

They can also tell me what country is experiencing the problems of illegal US immigrants entering their borders.

Also worked as a florist, restaurant cook & phone solicitor (ugh!).

Some on this forum actively recruit felons, illegal immigrants and those that have a history of evictions as tenants & do quite well doing so.

I save those numbers in my phone as solicitor so I know not to pick up.

Or maybe there is something I overlooked, like evidence of a divorce, which then triggers a requirement to provide a divorce decree, which could indicate you owe alimony every month, which trashes your DTI and causes your loan to be denied.Basically it is a check against me overlooking something like that, and gets it in front of the actual decision making human underwriter for a thumbs up with conditions, or (very unlikely) a thumbs down.For the record the last time I preapproved someone and the deal didn't close for creditworthiness reasons was about a year ago, and it was because the SSN check came back revealing that the person was an illegal immigrant using a dead person's SSN.
