My plans are to start small to get a taste of real estate investing, property management, tenant landlord dynamics and management and grow from there.

Tell them that you had some ideas to make the place more visually desirable, but those plans will be put on the back burner, in light of their complaints.  

I am not a fan of Salesforce which was too cumbersome and not as dynamic as we needed.
