Hi,My friend is building an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) in their backyard in Los Angeles area and wondered what might be some good choices for a front door that is 3 ft-0 in wide, 6 ft-8 in high, and 1 3/4 inch thick?

The ceiling height at the tallest is 6 feet 10 inches, and there is only one exit (though the entire unit may be <700 sq ft so maybe that isn't an issue).I'm afraid that means the attic unit is an illegal conversion as well.

If its a slab I would want to know the soil conditions in the general area.. there are areas throughout the deep south that have horrid clay and your house can end up out of plumb from one side to the other 6 to 12 inchs and those are expensive to fix..

With a detailed SOW I could have outlaid all of the areas that needed to be completed as well as details like pressure treated posts, 1 inch clearance from the ground, two foot post depth, etc.

They ended up not giving an inch even though their assessment of the property was pretty flawed I didn't want to be locked up for that long, even though we had planned to hold as a rental when we moved into a SFR or bigger house hack duplex/tri.

Otherwise, why would you be asking them to get a quote.Assuming that this is the only damage and it really is as minor as it seems (1 inch x 3 inches), there is no way to justify that amount for the repair.

But the 82 inch TV is free & clear for viewing & gaming.We assume that these kids must have originally moved out of a warehouse :)
