No offense, but I fear you will make many BIG mistakes because of lack of educating yourself.

Separately, I'm having a lawyer review the contract to help prevent my money from disappearing - that's probably my biggest fear.

We filed a claim prior to July 1st, 2019 but fear that we will recover very little of the investment money due to: legal fees, court battles, cost for maintaining the properties prior to sale, and the fact that the total value of the properties is estimated at 60% of the total amount people invested in the ponzi scheme.

I see it as not understanding and fear .. fear of losing money .

So, labor either is 1) under the table, which I'm opposed to on fear of getting caught plus the bookkeeping sucks, 2) me do a full payroll, which is do-able, but not cheap with workmans comp insurance, and I have more than enough to do already, or 3) put them through an employee leasing, which is easy but costs 70% over base wage, so not cheap. 

The first is a tricky one as it stems from inexperience and you're going to have to assuage those fears.
