@JD MartinI went out for my first run in months this morning ... chasing behind a nine-year old on a bicycle ... a humbling experience for a fellow who once ran ultra-marathons for fun.When we arrived home, my son informed me the outing was an absolute success: he didn't crash (he only decided this week he should probably learn to ride a bike) and I didn't drop dead :-OI will conceded that I am more than a little heavy at the moment ;-)

As for the percentage to expect to be taxed, I've seen others say that they just hold out 40% of the profit to be ultra-safe and anything of that 40% they don't owe Uncle Sam they keep.

In that case the contractors tend to bid the jobs they do work on a little higher to offset.Companies sell stuff ultra cheap all the time.

Unless you have a ultra high net worth or ultra high liquidity, you will need an inside relationship with the sponsors to let you sign as a KP since they are limited to 2-3 KPs.  4) Once you have KP experience under your belt, your next step is to be a GP on your own syndication.So its up to you to decide which is the path you want to do.

Especially since this is an inheritance I would be ultra careful with it.It probably took a lifetime for someone to save it for you yet it can be gone in an instant with the wrong or an impulsive decision.
