There's a very good chance the issue(s) you face have already been discussed and answered.Ask questions in the appropriate forum.

There's a great community here in these forums, so always feel welcome to ask questions.

Hang out in these forums and absorb all you can while realizing you are in an area that a lot of folks don't fully understand. 

It will be big project but after speaking to multiple people and looking through the forums it looks like a good idea.
