I have the tenant's security deposit which will reduce the financial sting (thanks for the tips on how to keep this without running afoul of the security deposit laws).I'll definitely take a financial hit in this -- luckily I am able to absorb it.

I planted things that ended up attracting bees and tree frogs (FYI I'm in Florida) so I removed them for her.3) Consider safety: at one house I planted a vicious spiny aloe-looking plant at windows because it would make for a painful experience if you wished to break in at that window.4) Also consider completely selfish motives.

It may help with the sting of something they are charged for and think is petty.If you get the place back timely, it is relatively clean, and not too banged up, thank your lucky stars and quickly move on.

Something like they can choose between 6 - 8 am or 6-7pm - something that will work for you, but also be something they can schedule for, knowing that the rest of the time is their time to enjoy the place in private and peace.You might also consider giving them a break on the rent until the plants are established to take some more of the sting out of their landlord showing up every day.

Of course you could have mitigated most of this by a simple 48 hour notice to enter after first letter and verified what was going on in the house by 'inspecting' the house.But the majority of posters are correct, ignore her until she starts coming around, she might be a bored housewife too, just looking for a bees nest to poke at.

The REIA meets at Oriental Buffet (McIntosh & Bee Ridge) Wednesdays at noon, and then there are two monthly meetings, one in Bradenton, one in Sarasota for the Landlord Association - but that has a yearly due schedule to attend - however the speakers there make the $50/year well worth it.
