Hunter, we did that whole immigration visa dance (my wife is from Russia and we lived there for years and years), so huge respect for doing this the right way. 

One was because they had sold the property to their minister's brother and did not want the friction of possibly being the one to foreclose on him. 

Thanks Marcia,I wouldn't worry about checking for criminal.The US immigration puts every foreigner through the ringer with background checks along with how every dollar got into the country.
