According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), as of 2023, housing inventory remains 40% below pre-pandemic levels, leading to heightened competition in many areas.To be considered a neutral market, not seller's or buyer's, the specific market center would need to have 6 months of inventory.

I have some previous business debts to payoff, so once all the dust has settled with realtor commissions and other closing costs, I'd have roughly $400k-500k of cash at my disposal.

It appears to me this was a well thought out move that will lead to the Morris's having a nice  life here in Portugal and all the investors left in his wake are for the most part very much out of luck or any hope of collecting on judgements.
