Create a simple spreadsheet or written list to compare the features of each and identify the ones that align with your requirements.

The slippery slop in both situations is that I would suggest sticking to one thing and not spread yourself too thin.

I suggest starting with a  smaller single family property, and build from there.

I will consider your suggestion's particularly the investigating of the local real estate market here (or as a minimum use it as a guide for if/when i return to the states as so to develop my research and planning skills).Appreciate your feedback.

Their prerogative of course, and I understand why a seller would be apprehensive of a buyer that hasn't set their own eyes on a property,  but does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to get them back talking with me?

It would be really great if anyone could provide me this information or suggest a mentor or someone with experience, who might help me get started.
