Thanks for the reinforcement, I will continue to save up for the next 12 months or so to get enough capital for a 10-20 unit apartment.I didn't think paying the students loan would be a good financial decision, but definitely a good psychological one!

Its purely a psychological issue......tenants think they are trapped because they have a lease....if people want to break it and leave, they will and its hard to enforce the $$ for the rent they didn't pay for the remaining leaseShe s a good tenant and my advice would be to go with the 6 months and you will likely see that  she stays longer.....be a jerk and she will start looking even harder for a new place

The point is to get into a position where you can liquidate as a young investor but still stay important to, and connected to, your veteran/mentor investors who don't need to liquidate.This Topic is in the psychology section because "psychologically" you have to look at the house flipping business with a different mind set...see yourself as an intern for the first few years.

And b/c most s.s. homeowners are psychologically defeated by the time they need s.s. help from already working with the banks, and getting nowhere, I'd make it clear to them in your letter that you already have an experienced RE Agent that can work their s.s. for them, is specialized in s.s., and will work with the bank for them.

I also think its psychologically harder to push for these things after you sent the money and assume you will be buying the property than when you are just thinking about buying and have not bought yet.
