AND the tenants don't really have to be suffering from COVID anything; they just have to certify that they make less than a certain income and have tried to get financial help and will likely be homeless if evicted. 

I know there is/was a homeless shelter on the block. 

There are additional reasons that we want to move out of this neighborhood as well (commute, crime, homelessness, etc).  

I'm hoping to use the passive income eventually to fund my non profit for homeless veterans.

My guess is she is homeless or at family now and left so she wouldn’t keep your place hostage.

This allow many people to have homes rather than be homeless.
