Had to replace that 3ft wide strip where we pulled the wall out anyway.The thicker stuff was actually easier to remove with steady, multi-angled hits with a tile scraper.

Get it as white and bright in there as you can, mostly for the publicity shots with the wide-angle lens.If the OP doesn't have the skills, I doubt he could get the jobs done for outlays small enough to make the numbers work.
