You will always have to be an asset manager of your property manager as your property manager is not a mind reader for your investment strategy decisions. 

Being a subject matter expert and having a clear strategy is far more important than picking a market.

Whatever you buy you likely won’t keep it down the line as you better define your investment strategy, so my advice is to pick an asset that’s going to teach you the most in the quickest amount of time.
