This includes beach and inland tourist hotels and villas ,tea and coffee estates, wildlife ranches, maisonettes and many more.

Hotels are in the back of my mind all the time!

The story sounds appealing, house hacking with someone who won't be around much and somewhat makes sense for a truck driver as it is cheaper than a hotel.

Michigan has no laws about appliances - not to be confused with mechanicals (furance & hot water heater).Your liability depends on what your lease states.Our lease states appliances are supplied for tenant convienence, but we don't have to fix them.Of course, tenants NEVER read their lease and alwasy seem to think they're staying in a hotel and a landlord has to do EVERYTHING for them.So, in realtiy, we fix appliances for good tenants so they stay.

Two hotel nights and parking is costing me $1,175/month.

They won't vet any of their guests any more than a hotel does.

In the last few years it's been mostly small hotels but lately larger office spaces are being redeveloped into condominium projects.  

I am far more confident that the vacation rental market will steal market share from hotels going forward than I am about an eternal property value increase.
