The Airbnb basically covers our mortgage.Only drawbacks I can think off is a bit less privacy in your own home (though we have never had any issues) and that you have to deal with cleaning the units but that can also be a profit center.

For the back fence I would consider replacing with a taller, wooden privacy fence (matching the adjacent neighbors) and possibly extending it forward along the sides of the house to make better use of the side yards by incorporating them into the back yard.
