Purchasing a new primary and turning my current house into a rental and looking to hire a PM but some of the fee's seem high. 1 quote - 100% 1st/month rent if i self-manager, or 75% 1st/mo rent and 10%/mo for PM to manage.Again, im new to this but from reading and talking to people there is a typical finders fee ~1000$ and 10%/mo rent if the PM manages.

I think there is a weird balance here, among professionals, where people may not want to bad mouth fellow professionals, particularly from the same areas, which can create a skewed picture. 

The new President is going to do this, do that, yada yada yada.Unfortunately, a lot of financial and tax professionals join this nonsense and pollute our brains with never-ending "How to prepare for the incoming tax changes..." podcasts and posts.

People just need to have more insurance and legal experience to deal in this issue and you can't rely on your hired property manager.

In the future you'll hire this out, but the knowledge gained will help you avoid getting screwed by contracators!
