Ya i dont think Detroit is safer than anywhere in Scandinavia for that matter any larger MSA in the US.. we have more murders in any of these cities in a month than they will have in 10 years..

Detroit and Chicago are quite alike:Both are about 2 years away from bankruptcy-Detroit 2 years past no longer has Damocles sword hanging overhead.Chicago 2 years future IT's still coming and you don't know when.Both have high crime rates:Detroit Murder rate is going down Chicago murder rate is going upDetroit has houses worse than most cities in the country BUT it also has houses better than most cities in the country all inside Detroit city limits.

@Scott KWhen I first bought properties in Detroit and told people I was moving up here, I was told by at least 10 different people that Detroit was the murder capital of the US.

If the city would get up to any type of standard my properties on the outskirts would go up in value.But you can't deny that in 2013 it was the murder capital of the country.
