I suppose it wasn't enough to just tell the lender that I owned the property in my LLC [...]Which, really, actually is a tragedy.

In some we could be uber successful doctors, RE moguls ect, in others we could fall prey at addiction, tragedy, untimely death and not have any success.

Or could there be benefits with the market with such tragedy?

Luckily nobody died, and tragedy plus time equals comedy.

That being said after the constant tragedy’s in Florida/South Carolina/Puerto Rico with the constant destruction from hurricanes I feel like it’s a great calling for me to jump in and get invested somewhere where i can make a difference.

That's a true tragedy to have lost your both your parents but it is a small blessing that have left you with a property to take care of you and your sister. 

Imagine what it could look like with a carbon tax to level the playing field some.This kind of gets back to the "Tragedy of the commons."

Everyone was still getting over the tragedy of being burned in 2008, there was caution and fear in the air. 

It is not a 1 time event that can happen  and I have known parents that lived the tragedy that can follow.

All he wanted to do in every conversation we had was sell me a condo in one of the "new developments" that...ooohhh such a deal....he could get me below offering prices on because of his contacts.No part of "I've just experienced a tragedy", "I literally don't even know what I own at the moment", and "I doubt I will live in Miami longer than a few months" would derail that "buy a condo" train.
