Our current options: 1) a couple that vapes and has a small dog (they say they never vape inside, but that's also what all the vapers I know tell their landlords)2) a couple that has 2 large dogs and a 36 gallon aquarium

I think this will be something I have to redefine.   

More specific ideas for business that still operate these days: scrubs shop, medical equipment, bikes shop, pet stores, hardware stores, nurseries, beauty supplies, dollar stores, cannabis store (if legal in your state) or CBD products store, vape/smoke shops, doughnut stores, Fitness equipment store, pop-up COVID testing centers.Bonus round:If your location has a big parking lot, you can set up a "movie drive-in" on some nights and have the businesses in the strip serve the food/drinks.

Would you lease a part of your strip center to a head shop (tobacco shop that sells pipes, vapes,  and related items)?

The Vape shop 'went up in smoke' financially, but the hairdressing salon has expanded & the young kid who started it alone now has 9 chairs with as many stylists & needs to expand.

One lesson that I've learned early on in life and that applies here is that you must be willing to redefine your standards and learn to adapt.
