Hi everyone:My husband and I are in the process of furnishing our transforming our second home in the White Mountains (Thornton, NH) into a STR.  

NH only really cares about tenants with no heat during the winter.

I live in the Raleigh area but own a medium-term rental for traveling nurses in New Hampshire.

Many accounting firms around here (New Hampshire) start at $1,500 - $2,000 no matter how simple the situation is. 

But if all you have is 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, etc. then take the remainder on a 15-year fixed mortgage.He also says that if you plan to buy real estate after your first home then you should pay in cash.Here are my thoughts:I need approximately $80,000 for a down payment. 20% of 400,000. this would be a multifamily home in New Hampshire (I plan to house hack) Saving for this would take me approximately 3 years and 3 years of paying rent of $1500-$2000 a month.
