When I first spoke with them and asked if they are a lender, the response is "we do make loans," or something along those lines, but it was not disclosed that they are in actuality a broker.

Depending on your loan structure I'm not even sure you could legally offer a personal guarantee outside of the loan for that money without committing mortgage fraud, as anything that could hinder the ability of the primary lender to recover their principal is supposed to be declared during their diligence period, and any material changes up to the point of taking the loan are supposed to be disclosed as well.

I have since strongly advised my tenants that I do not disclose their personal info to anyone who calls me I expect reciprocity and my personal info is not to be given out to anyone.I’ve actually had agents approach me either at home or if I’m at my rentals and tell me the same I have a buyer for your house pitch.
