Since you admit you know very little, why don't you analyze what's gone wrong with this PMC and interview new ones to address your concerns?

Truth time: I suspect the reason you didn't get any responses back from these alleged "wholesalers and investors" is that hardly any of them are actually transacting deals!

I will preface this question by adding an assumption and that's  most who are seeking asset protection services,  do so to protect against claims that could have significant financial repercussions, rather than being  drawn into landlord tenant court over a rent payment dispute because the tenant alleges the boiler is defective, so lets focus our attention there.How do these claims typically start?

Even when wholesalers “kinda’ admit to the seller that they are going to “wholesale” the property, they still tend to mislead the seller by talking about “financing partners”, “equity positions”, “mentors” “membership” etc.So, various states have, under the banner of consumer protection, enacted legislation to restrict the use of the “wholesale” transaction in RESIDENTIAL OWNER OCCUPIED real estate - note, not commercial property and not residential when the transaction is between 2 investors. 

It's something people rarely think about, talk about, or admit. 

This is standard business practice - just look up how many settlements the SEC makes annually where companies pay millions in penalties WITHOUT ADMITTING to any wrong doing.- Cash-for-Keys is another example of this!
