Would you purchase a home made before lets say 1980?

Sometimes old houses with shoddy construction and home made add ons cannot be resurrected from the dead.

I say that because of my previous thread about a tenant giving some homemade fudge with last month's rent.I was invited to share Thanksgiving dinner with one of my tenants and his family at their apartment.

But, I should have remedied the "Home Made" apperances to these items mentioned.I learned the term "Offends My Eye" from a dear freind I made in Houston while I was racing sports cars.

My 8 year old peered into the murky depths of a home made barrel full of algal infested water sitting where the rain flows off the roof and said she saw fish. 

Make home made meals every night.Then you get a tenant threatening to sue you and you can't sleep for nights on end.

I come home, made my wife a drink, set down next to her and told her that I have something to tell her.  

@Jarrod M.The current lease, made by the seller, is a simple two page home made lease with no provisions on whether the tenant has any obligation to sign an estoppel or any remedies.

The tenants we have in one of our houses are fantastic, love the house, keep it in great repair, rent is on time, and they even occasionally send us a bottle of home made wine, which is always a pleasant surprise.

I use several home-made spreadsheets for creating budgets, but I think you're a bit optimistic to think you'll be able to just enter number of beds/baths/etc. to get reasonable estimates.
