Having a very low mortgage and a roommate would make it possible to stay in my home and take a lower paying job if I had to.

Do you have any roommates that are helping you cover the 'rent's your unit? 

@Minka ShaOption C - Stay in the house and get a roommate to share some of the payment until you have lived there for 2 years. 

For me, I'm trying to have roommates for as long as possible!

We have no records for the roommate, and we might as well be taking money from a stranger.

Almost the entire time through college, I had roommates which helped save money.

Have roommates/tenants lined up for the following year.

I have a three bedroom apartment which rents for $1700 ($700, $600, $400) the smaller two bedrooms are moving out, but the one tenant who wants to renew but is having issues finding roommate in this COVID environment, not only are less people moving around but she is also very worries about having 'strangers' move in. 

I lived in it for a year with roommates, then began renting once I moved.

(possibly a roommate before)We are also considering converting the place into a duplex with and adding a bathroom for a 1/1 and a 2/1 or 3/1 and a studio(converting the garage).If you were in my shoes would you think this is a good deal?
