My dad started in this bizz in CA in 1962,,, as a family RE bizz we bought thousands of these lots over the years at tax sales and other venues.. then sold them for 50 down 50 a month.. 8 to 18% interest.Same scenario you see with Texas 20 acre parcels for 2k down 40k and in Montana you could buy 20S the same way before the movie stars found Montana...My pop bought thousands of these over the years. it was not uncommon to buy lots for less than 50 bucks at the tax sales. the 50 down payment we had all our money back.. then we would sell the paper to note buyers in Beverly hills.. for 50% discounts..

@David Bartlett  fractionalized DT's are very common in CA.. and in some other venues and in many states they are not legal..

Both are great venues to meet up with local investors and usually have MSFT employees that you could connect with.

It's not a venue for anyone but the experienced or extreme risk-takers.I read on your profile that you bought a parcel of LAND at the auction, I'm assuming that's the Norwalk property you are referring to. 

Michigan has everything to offer in terms of outdoor activities, including hunting, skiing, ice fishing, golf, and every water sport imaginable, as well as inexpensive venues at which to enjoy them. 

However even that dead equity still saves me the roughly 4.75% interest I would have otherwise had to pay, which is 3x better than a 1.5% bank account.As stated earlier, I don't care what venue you choose to invest in, and am not necessarily advocating specifically that you should be buying stocks.  

The population will just get more Younger and Single people living there enjoying those kinds of amenities.Ultimately, there will be larger venue type events coming back, especially in tourist areas.

And that's not the only coffee shop, there's another one around the corner attached to the art gallery and live event venue.
